Items included: In 2013, the City of Henderson provided Henderson Libraries with digitized records of the Henderson Coordinating Council, formatted as searchable PDF files. Henderson Libraries attempted to improve the Optical Character Recognition of the PDF files using ABBYY FineReader 11 and generated PDF/A copies for digital display and archival storage. Because the document images were probably scanned from microfilm, they are of poor quality, but most of the materials are legible. Optical Character Recognition of handwritten pages was loosely achieved by designating the text area type as a table rather than text and manually entering the text into the table. Searching can therefore be performed on handwritten documents, but highlighted areas will appear near the search result rather than directly upon it.
