He joined the Lebanese Military at the age of 15 and serve for 14 years, during his time in the military he work on completing his High School diploma and Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC) with a minor degree in Political Science . As a retired Navy SEAL Captain, he was granted political asylum and move to the United States in 1989, living in New York and California before settling down in Las Vegas in 1993. The challenges he experienced in war-torn Lebanon as a child, his military background, and the influence from his dad and his grandfather of committing one hundred percent or not at all allowed him to develop the perseverance and confidence to constantly aim higher, never settling, and always looking for more. He built up his casino career as a front desk clerk at Vegas World and within a short period of time, moved up to management positions at Treasure Island, Stratosphere, and the Debbie Reynolds Hotel and Casino. His HVAC and mechanical engineering background caught the attention of the previous NSC facilities manager who encouraged Imad to apply for a facility supervisor position at Nevada State College in which became a member of NSC team on October 30th 2005. Imad Mehanna is currently the Interim Director of Facilities at Nevada State College, overseeing the facilities, planning, construction, environmental health, safety, and security of the campus. During his course of time he has initiated, managed, designed and overseen several extensive building projects. He is excited to be a part of the growth of the College as it grows into an established educational institution for the city of Henderson.
