- Summary:
- Black and white photograph showing men and boys on cement platform with stairs leading down. Two boys are holding a sign reading "In Memory of Dr. Martin Luther King. A man, possibly Rev. Sylvester Parks of the Community Baptist Church, is standing at a microphone, holding papers. Children are standing and seated at left. On April 7, 1968, a march was held from the Carver Park administration building to a memorial service at the city park. About 75 people participated. Rev. Sylvester Parks of the Community Baptist Church, Rev. Bill Roberts of the First Presbyterian Church and Henderson mayor W.R. Hampton spoke at the memorial.
