Notes

Summary:
Sonya Smith was born in California, and she came to Henderson as a child in 1953. She became a hospice nurse and later met her husband Leonard when he retired from DuPont and moved to Henderson in 1982. As a chemical engineer for DuPont, Leonard Smith formulated the orange color used in Agent Orange, among other colors for paint and materials. Sonya and Leonard discuss their experiences living in Henderson and running small businesses, including the impact of the PEPCON explosion in 1988. Among many interesting vignettes, Leonard recalls his boyhood interview with Albert Einstein, who lived in his neighborhood in Princeton, New Jersey.
