- Summary:
- The theme of the 2014 Summer Reading Program Photography Contest is "The Elements". Participants may submit a digital photograph which best fits this theme and explain why. Entries will be accepted online between June 7, 2014 and August 30, 2014. In answer to the question "How does your entry fit the contest theme?" the photographer answered: Often we call our world “Mother Earth”, but I would like to turn our attention to the fact that most of the world is made of water. My photo is titled "Mother Ocean". The ocean provides an abundance of energy. This image captures the classical thought of a couple of elements: 1) water in its vastness and 2) fire, i.e., in the form of sun rays breaking through the sky in subtle fashion, eventually penetrating the surface of the water.
