- Summary:
- The theme of the 2014 Summer Reading Program Photography Contest is "The Elements". Participants may submit a digital photograph which best fits this theme and explain why. Entries will be accepted online between June 7, 2014 and August 30, 2014. In answer to the question "How does your entry fit the contest theme?" the photographer answered: This photo encompasses the contest theme of The Elements in two different ways. The photo exhibits a molecule of two elements from the periodic table, H2O, in various forms: liquid state (flowing water/waterfall, still water/lakes, impending rain/dark clouds) solid state (glacier, floating ice, snow) and gaseous state (regular/white clouds, rain/dark clouds). Additionally, the photo exhibits The Elements in the manner that refers to weather: impending rain, snow, cold weather (frozen glacier), and warm weather (melting glacier). ( ,,,,, )
