Summary:
John Simmons was born Henderson in 1957. He grew up in Henderson and graduated from Basic High School. His mother came to the Henderson area in 1938. His grandfather was the crime scene photographer for the first police department at Basic Magnesium, Inc. Mentored by Clark County Public Works director George Monahan, Simmons engaged in a career in county and city government as well as land development. He shares his childhood memories of Henderson and recalls teachers and friends who impacted his life and the development of Henderson.
