- Mrs. Albert Gilbert, Peggy Martin, Mrs. Bert Price, and Mrs. Jayne Roberts, members of the Rose de Lima Hospital Auxiliary. The caption on the back of the photograph identifies the women and includes the phrase "toasting the success". They may have been toasting the success of the most recent Mardi Gras Ball, the hospital's annual benefit. Two stamps also appear on the back of the photograph: "49'er" and "Talk of Town", probably referring to the sections of the newspaper in which this photograph may have appeared.
