- Summary:
- Jim Cavalieri was born and raised in Henderson. He had worked for the Henderson Fire Department for 15 1/2 years and was Fire Chief when this interview was conducted in 2003. He talks about his years with the department and the challenges of keeping up with Henderson's explosive population growth. He recalls the PEPCON explosion and the ways in which city residents came together to work through the aftermath. He also spends some time recalling earlier years in Henderson when Water Street businesses thrived and kids gathered at the Youth Center on Friday nights for dances. This interview was conducted in celebration of Henderson's 50th year as an incorporated city.
