- Summary:
- Hal Smith moved to Henderson in 1953. He ran a lumber business in Henderson in the 1960s and was also very politically active, serving on the state assembly and the state senate. He talks about the early businesses in Henderson, raising a family, the dog track, the Lake Adair project, the churches, and Green Valley. The Hal Smith Elementary School was named after him. He also discusses the impact of the industrial plants and Basic Management, Inc. on the city's development. This interview was conducted in celebration of Henderson's 50th year as an incorporated city.
