- Summary:
- J. Marlan Walked arrived in Henderson in 1952. He taught Spanish, Latin, and French at Basic High School for 36 years and was also very involved in his church. He talks about the changing school facilities and about the growth of both the schools and the city. He discusses the role of the church in the community and comments on the sense of belonging and community that have endured in Henderson through the years. This interview was conducted in celebration of Henderson's 50th year as an incorporated city.
