- Summary:
- This scrapbook includes articles published between 1942 and 1944 about the Truman Committee's investigation of the contract between the Defense Plant Corporation (DPC) and Basic Magnesium, Inc. (BMI), a government-owned defense plant located in Henderson, Nevada that produced magnesium for World War II. These articles focus on charges of profiteering by DPC and BMI. Source and date information accompany each article clipping. The creator(s) and assembly date of this scrapbook remain unknown.

- Funding for the digital imaging of the scrapbooks was provided by the City of Henderson. Digitization was performed by the Nevada State Library.
- Additional Physical Form:
- The scrapbooks are held by the Henderson District Public Libraries (HDPL), the Office of the City Clerk at the City of Henderson, and the Clark County Museum in Henderson, Nevada. HDPL holds the digital files.
- Creation/Production Credits:
- Each page of the hard copy scrapbooks were scanned at 300 dpi, 24-bit color with a Zeutschel OS10000AO large format scanner. Omniscan 11 and Photoshop CS3 were used to produce master images in jpeg format. Scanning was coordinated by Sabrina Mercadante, Archives and Records Administrator, Office of the City Clerk at the City of Henderson. Baylen Limasa, Program Officer, Micrographics and Imaging Program at the Nevada State Library and Archives performed the scanning.
