Summary:
This scrapbook includes articles from 1942 about the Nevada Democratic Senator, Berkeley L. Bunker, and his charges that the Defense Plant Corporation (DPC) entered into a "sinister" contract with Basic Magnesium, Inc. (BMI), a government-owned defense plant located in Henderson, Nevada that produced magnesium for World War II. Berkeley claimed that both companies were guilty of profiteering. He personally attacked Commerce Secretary, Jesse H. Jones, as DPC fell under his jurisdiction. Source and date information accompany each article clipping. The creator(s) and assembly date of this scrapbook remain unknown.
