520 3    |a Bill Zahm was working in a machine shop making .50 caliber bullets for the war effort when he was drafted into the Air Corp. He was trained to repair engines and to do sheet metal work. He was transferred to Salt Lake City to wait to be shipped out to the Pacific. After three weeks he spoke to his commanding officer to find out why he was still there. His orders had been misplaced. So they sent him to Sioux City, Iowa where he eventually took charge and ran the supply room for the Air Base there. He worked in this capacity until he was discharged.
