520 3    |a Alice L. Brown was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Brown earned her Master’s degree in library science from Carnegie in Pittsburgh. She enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. When Brown’s husband obtained work with Manganese in Henderson, Brown went to work for the library of University of Nevada, Southern Regional Division. In 1998, Brown participated in Women’s Summit ’98, at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Committed to public service, Brown has volunteered since the 1980s for several Henderson organizations including St. Rose de Lima, Lake Mead Recreation Area, Spring Mountain Ranch, and Henderson Libraries.
