Abstract:
Alice Brumage moved from Washington to Boulder City, Nevada, where her father, M. O. Dodge, worked as a concrete foreman during Boulder Dam construction. Her mother, Myra Smith Dodge, held a teaching degree from Michigan State and, because she had coursework in chemistry, worked in the laboratory of Basic Magnesium Incorporated during World War II. Brumage recalls growing up in the early days of Boulder City and Henderson and the beginnings of the LDS Church in Henderson. She also discusses her education and career as a nurse in California and the school she started to provide training certification to home health aides.
