Notes

Abstract:
Janette Anderson was born in 1934 in Long Beach, California, with grandparents living in Overton, Nevada, Janette settled in Henderson with her mother and sister in 1948. She worked at the Henderson Bowling Alley and Victory Theatre as a teenager and then began her career with the Henderson Telephone Company after graduation from Basic High School. Janette shares stories about how the newly formed Townsite adapted to life without much of the infrastructure she had experienced in Long Beach. Her recollections of the old telephone company highlight the extent to which technology has changed during the course of her life.
