The youths are registered in the freshmen, junior varsity and varsity program. Traditionally, Basic's first ball game will be with the Eagles of Boulder City at Boulder on Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. The junior varsity game will be at 5:30 p.m. "Our team is vastly superior over last year," Camillone said. EVAbA A)thoifc^ was"u-iO, Camillone, who is starting his second year as coach at Basic, gets upset when someone criticizes his boys. "The kids played their hearts out last year and gave what they could. It was my extreme pleasure to be with them. They just were not ready for T riple A footba First Game Ke. .itte Library H.k Cnroon City, Ntr. 89701 Iff nil k%%|t^ -3 f Last year was the school's first year of re entry into the AAA league. Camillone feels his ball players this year are better prepared than last year. Since Jan. they have been working out with physical skills. "This year's team has the potential to be competitive," he said. "We're going to have to scramble and claw and dig and play with a lot of heart and adversity to win because we're a young team in experience." "Every game we play will be our toughest game," Camillone said. He said every coach in the league is a "super coach," including Mr. Evans of Boulder City to Rancho. Camillone does not believe they were last year since they lost at least 20 players. Over the years the series between Boulder and Basic has shown 20 wins for Boulder and nine for Basic. A memorial has been estabEditorial Who Pays Pied Piper? There should be no question in the minds of the public on who pays Pied Piper. We do. The people of Henderson have suffered under a burden of too high electric rates, and now, since March, 1977, have been overcharged for their telephones. We have a high residency of senior citizens and people who live on fixed incomes who cannot afford the rising costs of food, lodging, medical and other bills. Two things they cannot do without are electricity and a telephone, and they are being priced out of these. ^ The citizens of Henderson are in a position of having been overcharged 32 per cent. If the people of Henderson owed the telephone company or any other utility money from 1977, they most likely would have to pay i\iterest on their bill. We feel that under the circumstances, the people of Henderson are entitled to be paid an interest rate on their money which has been lodged with the telephone company. We hope Judge Gregory will make a hasty decision on the refund and interest rate so that things can get back to where they should be. lished for the Griffith's son, Link Paul, at the Henderson Branch pf the Bank of Nevada for the benefit of his future education and the families therefore request that contributions may be made in lieu of flowers. Attorney General Robert List previously had asked the Nevada Supreme Court to set guidelines for Continental Telephone Co. to refund almost $1 million to Nevada consumers. Judge Frank Gregory will meet with the attorneys to determine how the refunds will be made and whether or not interest will be paid. The final order will come from Judge Gregory, according to George Keele, deputy attorney for the Public Service Commission"We ore working as expeditiously as possible," Keele said. 'The only problem we will hove with tfto refunds is where people have moved away and are no longer available to receive o refund." There has been an approximate 32 per cent over charge from Continental Telephone since March of 1977. The firm had l>een outhorized by the courts to collect the increased rates while litigation continued. Local officials of Continental Telephone Co. say they have not been advised of the proceedings and do iMt know how the refunds will be made. / Council Recommends No Fee For Focility Use In Most Coses "I prefer not to charge for facilities unless there is an actual outlay of money by the city ... such as having a life guard on hand," commented Mayor Lorin Williams during a discussion of the Parks and Recreation Department's facilities. The discussion came aAer the HPRD's director Dundee Jones gave the city council back up information in the form of actual costs for maintenance personnel and utilities to indicate there may be justification for some adjustments in the fees and charges rates presently in effect.
